This year’s best-seller ranks are filled with familiar brands and nameplates, but there are a few more recent additions to the fold as well, including the Chevy Trax, Ford Maverick, and Honda CR-V. Whatever vehicle you’re shopping for, there’s likely something to strike your fancy on this list. After all, these are the cars folks just like you chose more than any others through the first six months of 2024.
Here are the 25 best-selling vehicles of 2024, so far.
1. Ford F-Series

Total Units Sold: 352,406
Ford’s herd of F-Series trucks — which includes the F-150, F-150 Lightning EV, F-250, F-350, and the even larger models — perennially sits atop the list, in part because it’s an aggregation of several models, but also because it’s consistently popular with commercial fleets as well as retail buyers. It’s popular because it’s so good, and it earned the Kelley Blue Book Full-Size Truck Best Buy of 2024 award.

2. Chevrolet Silverado

Total Units Sold: 275,692
Coming in second to the F-Series is Chevrolet’s eminently capable Silverado lineup, which aggregates the Silverado 1500, 2500, and 3500, as well as the new Silverado EV, but doesn’t include the nearly identical GMC Sierra line. If you combined GMC and Chevrolet’s pickup figures, GM would have the best-selling truck title by about 80,000 units.

3. Toyota RAV4

Total Units Sold: 248,295
As the top-ranking non-pickup model, the Toyota RAV4 is the most popular SUV in the U.S. Sales figures include the standard and hybrid variants, including the RAV4 Hybrid and RAV4 Prime plug-in hybrid. All RAV4 variants offer modern tech, a roomy cabin, and many standard safety features.

4. Tesla Model Y

Total Units Sold: 198,030
Up to 310 miles of range and lots of available advanced technology are the primary selling points of the 2024 Tesla Model Y, the most popular EV of 2024 so far. Autopilot is available, but you won’t get Android Auto or Apple CarPlay — neither is an option.

5. Honda CR-V

Total Units Sold: 196,204
The Honda CR-V is another much-loved crossover for Americans. It appears near the top of the best-seller list annually, frequently alongside its primary rival, the Toyota RAV4. The CR-V’s excellent all-around ability, equipment, and value have made it a strong seller and KBB’s Compact SUV Best Buy of 2024.

6. Ram Pickups

Total Units Sold: 179,526
The third of the Big Three pickup lines, the Ram Pickup line, combines the sales figures for its Ram 1500, 2500, and 350 and its heavier-duty models. It might not be as popular as its crosstown rivals, but Ram Trucks sold more than double the top non-Big Three full-size truck competitor, the Toyota Tundra.

7. Toyota Camry

Total Units Sold: 155,242
Once upon a time, the Toyota Camry was almost as likely to be at the top of this list as the Ford F-Series, but the market has turned away from sedans. Despite that, the Camry ranks in the top 10, claiming the top spot among all sedans. Why? Because it’s that good and has been for a long time.

8. GMC Sierra

Total Units Sold: 148,785
The GMC Sierra line of pickups mirrors Chevrolet’s lineup in terms of capability and breadth but with distinct stylistic sensibilities and a different array of trims and feature combinations. Regardless of which brand you prefer, you’ll get a pickup that’s ready to work or play as hard as you do.
