W Motors is the first company in the Middle East to develop high-performance luxury sports cars. The company specializes in vehicle engineering and manufacturing, automotive design, research and development, and automotive consultancy. W Motors currently operates a Dubai Business Bay location and a flagship Gallery in City Walk; meanwhile, its factory’s construction began in January 2020.
If you’re a fan of the Fast and Furious franchise, you probably know of W Motors’ best-known car – the Lykan Hypersport. The Hypersport was involved in one of the most iconic scenes the franchise has produced and, since it’s extremely rare with less than 10 units produced, it’s worth millions. W Motors has also produced the Fenyr SuperSport and Ghiath models independently, while the Model 7 and the MUSE resulted from collaboration with ICONIQ Motors. The company has announced plans to release Fenyr SuperSport HSF, a luxury sedan, an SUV, and an electric supercar in the future.
Ultima Sports Limited is based in Leicestershire, England, specializing in the manufacture and worldwide distribution of the Ultima Evolution supercar. The company expertly mates Porsche transaxles and Chevrolet engines sourced from American Speed to manufacture a truly unique sports car range.
The company boasts several models in its portfolio; the Ultima Mk, Ultima Sport, Ultima Spyder, Ultima Can-Am, Ultima GTR, and its best-known model – the Ultima Evolution. The Ultima Evolution combines Ultima’s European design and build quality with various Chevrolet-sourced engines to create an incredibly fast limited production sports car that can accelerate to 60 mph in as little as 2.3 seconds. The Ultima Evolution is sold either as a complete vehicle or a kit car that buyers can assemble by themselves, with American buyers having to settle for the latter.
Located in the Danish island of Zealand, Zenvo Automotive specializes in manufacturing high-performance sports cars. The company’s prototype, the Zenvo ST1, debuted in 2009, with only 15 examples built before production ceased in 2016.
After the ST1, Zenvo has built and sold four additional models under its brand name; the limited edition 2016 TS1, the 2016 TS1 GT grand tourer, the 2016 TSR track-only sports car, and the road-legal 2018 TSR-S. Zenvo currently offers the ultra-rare and collectible TSI GT, TSR, and TSR-S models with a maximum production capacity of five cars a year.
VinFast Auto is a Vietnam-based automaker that works with renowned companies like BMW and Pininfarina to build some really cool cars. VinFast has been producing various ICE and battery electric vehicles since it was founded in 2017, and they’ve helped it become the first Vietnamese car brand to expand into global markets.
Many gearheads remember the Gumpert Apollo, an incredibly fast German supercar that was easily among the fastest sports cars of the 2000s. Although the Apollo looked promising, Gumpert went out of business shortly after building it. Thankfully, a Hong Kong investor decided to revive the company in 2016 under a new name – Apollo Automobil.
Apollo has built two insane supercars since it was founded – the 2016 Arrow and the 2019 Intensa Emozione. The Intensa Emozione is the one that might ring a bell to some gearheads, but since it’s one of the rarest supercars with only 10 examples built, most will never see it in person.
