When we talk about automotive giants, and nameplates that have shaped the landscape, the 3-Series is a nameplate you can’t get away from. It is easily the German brand’s most popular vehicle. While it is very different today compared to when it first hit the streets, it still embodies its core principles, offering a fantastic interior and a ton of fun when you put your foot down.

The 330i features a smooth yet raucous turbocharged four-banger while the M340i instead gets an absolutely fantastic turbocharged inline-six. Both powertrains make use of a mild hybrid system and can be had with either rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. It remains one of the most rewarding cars to drive in its segment.
Pros
- Overachieving base powertrain
- Expertly tuned chassis
- Contemporary interior
Cons
- Steering feedback is a little light
- Some driver assists are costly extras
- Interior lacks the character of older 3-Series

Many of the sedan’s desirable features are either tacked on as standard or are relatively affordable. While its starting MSRP might be pretty close to the likes of the Audi A6 and the BMW 5-Series, the Genesis feels like a more complete car.
